I Sell Tax Planning Clients In Your Name
I Sell Tax Planning Clients In Your Name
For over 50 years, I’ve used a simple 3-step process to bring in high-value clients.
Now that I’m retired, I will work for up to five firms in any given month to sell clients. See the About Us section for more details about my experience.
Step One: I make you the local expert on tax planning by writing a 200-page high-end book (in your name), publishing it on Amazon, and then making it a best seller. The book is also used to get you into speaking engagements locally and on radio/podcast shows. This is followed by a second book on tax planning 30 days later and a weekly newsletter that goes onto the clients' social media and drops into their inbox. Once you target somebody you want as a client, they will quickly realize you are the preeminent authority in your market because of the collateral training material I will write in your name.
Step Two: Every week, you will pick the five targeted clients you want. Gift those 5 clients your books directly from Amazon. I will then start the selling process to get those five on the phone. This will include multiple phone calls, emails about tax planning in your name, and posting to social media. This effort will continue for three years. I am very polite, and at the first sign that the client is not interested, I will stop and note that in your reports. On average, you can expect I will invest one day a week working to get your five, for this week, on the phone and sold. My goal is to sell the clients at $500 to $4,000 per month. The higher fees come from offering to help the client move from tax reduction into asset building for generational wealth. On average, only one of the five will become your client. We may get the other four over the next three years, but not today.
Step Three: I use the books as the hook to get the client on the phone. You are the expert; I am the storyteller who works for you to introduce tax planning. I will not price your service, but will give the client a ballpark of what they can expect. I will then collect data to be sent to you directly. The client will come to your office to start the plan.
Bonus Step: The all-referral practice. Every client has 20 to 30 customers and local vendors in their QuickBooks. We’ll work together to ship your book to those 20 as a gift, paid by you, but the gift is from your client. Everyone who gets your book is getting an implied endorsement from your client. The gift card says, “My accountant wrote this book. I loved it. I think you’ll find it useful as well.” Now it is up to me to follow up on the phone and get the sale. Once we have run through all the QB contacts, we can move on to LinkedIn 1st-level connections. On average, LinkedIn is good for another 30 to 50 referrals over the year.
How Much Does It Cost To Hire KC?
Every week you’ll add the next five best referrals into the funnel and ship each one your book from Amazon. I then get a flat rate of $250 per week to work those five leads by phone, email, social media, public speaking, and other methods for three years. Until they buy or say they have no interest.
If any of them become a client for tax planning, I get a flat rate bonus of $1,000.
There are costs involved in writing your bestsellers on Amazon. I will review the options in a short phone call with you. I only have the ability to provide this service to five accounting firms.
